My Story
I haven’t always been a world traveler.
In fact, I didn’t leave the continent of North America until I was 19 years old. Traveling became a passion of mine when I studied abroad in Rome twenty years ago.
Almost immediately, I began traveling with friends and classmates on the weekends and short breaks. I quickly found, however, that I had different priorities than a lot of my travel companions.
As much as I appreciate art, spending eight hours at the Louvre just wasn’t for me when I could have been walking through the streets of Paris. I enjoy wine and cocktails as much as anyone (trust me on this!), but I wasn’t a fan of clubbing until 3 AM.
That’s when I turned to the handy Rick Steves Europe travel guide my parents bought me and started planning my own trips. I discovered something I’d never experienced before, the ability to tailor each day of vacation to whatever suited me. I’ve really never looked back!

When my husband Adam and I first got together in 2007, he told me “I have no desire to go to Europe.”
He only wanted to go on vacations that involved lying on the beach and drinking margaritas.
While those vacations definitely have their place, people who only lounge at the pool at all-inclusive resorts for their entire vacation miss out on so much.
Friends and family constantly remark on how often Adam and I travel.
It’s not because we are millionaires (still hoping for that winning Lotto ticket) or because we have unlimited time off; it’s because we prioritize travel and the deeper connection it brings us.
